The Allison Engine Company was an American designer and manufacturer of aircraft engines and components. The company was founded in 1904 by James Allison, Percy Avery, and Carl Fisher and initially designed engines for automobiles. The company was purchased by General Motors in 1929 and began making engines for commercial aircraft. The company was owned by General Motors until its sale to Rolls Royce in 1995. Rolls Royce and Allison engines are used in a broad range of U.S. military aircraft as well as commercial and business aircraft. Their longstanding commitment to quality is one of the many reasons we do business with them.
